For all those who want Ridgewell out he is now suspended for the next 2 games so we will be able to see how good our defence is without him.

i dont think it will make any difference because we could put all our CD's together and not make a decent one for this division.

well 8 goals against in the last 4 games with Ridgewell at fault for many off them, surely the next 2 games without him in it we cant be any worse......can we?

Scmitz and Tiny for me!

Man City will be worried sick of tackles if Taylor plays < <

i agree about that which is the depressing point. ridgwell is one of the worst i have seen down blues for mistakes , anyone remember martin hicks?

people say ridgwell will learn and needs to concentrate but he has always been this way and it's his atural game so i after we get rid of him the only place we will ever see him is in the championship.

Is this thread (the 2nd Ridgewell thread on here BTW) supposed to be debate whether Ridgewell should be dropped or not ??

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this crucial fact but he is suspended for the next 2 games anyway due to a 10th yellow card yesterday

Obviously he is becoming the new 'DJ' or 'McSheffrey'............another player to be verbally crucified by a faction of our illustrious supporters it seems :banghead:

I disagree, I think playing Taylor will have the opposite effect on teams. They will know that mentally he's going to be struggling and they will know that he is going to be petrified of making a tackle so they will use that to their advantage.

I remember Hicky, he was cr@p then all of a sudden he became brilliant and most of the fans took to him, didn't he win our player of the season back then, also Liam Daish was a bit iffy when he first arrived but he became a solid centre back Barry Fry bought him for a tenner or something and sold him for £2 mill +. its quite annoying with Ridgewell because at times earlier in the season he looked really good and then these stupid mistakes started becoming to regular and costing us games.

Who ever come in now will be looking to impress and keep the shirt. Also Ridgewell will get a few weeks away so he can try and get his head straight.

It's good news for us either way.

how can having a centre half out at a crucial point in the season be good news?

I'll recheck the stats but the last time I looked Ridgewell was top of the defensive block list!!

I agree that he makes mistakes and they cost us.... however lets not forget the tackles and blocks he makes to stop goals etc!!!

Because he is making too many mistakes at the moment and a spell away from the team would do him the world of good. Being suspended saves him having to face being dropped aswell so it would'nt be as damaging to his confidence.

Also whoever comes in will be looking to keep the spot aswell so we might see a upturn in our defensive fortunes.

rigdewell is a nightmare jassy for everything he does well he will inevetably drop a clanger that will cost us.

he's the most error prone CD we have had not even purse made as many errors as he has this season.

he's a liability but when he happens to be better than what you've got it's depressing.

I honestly think that with the right partner he will cut the errors out! more often than not he is coverinmg someone elses error... yes he has dropped some clangers but unfortunately when you are the last man or covering others that is going to happen!

what we don't need at the moment is people turning on him! the lad gives 100% and I will stay behind him whilst he is in the team

But he is playing poorly, whoever comes in can't do no worse. And we don't know how Ridgewell would take being dropped if he was to be, so the suspension saves all of that and lets him get his act together for when he retruns.
